Violence Cannot Produce Peace — A Reflection from the Book of Numbers

03/15/2026

Since I went through darkness and loss in 2023, my spiritual life has been deeply affected in both positive and difficult ways. Last fall, I went to a local Bible church school to take a season of theology class. It gave me a deep echo in my soul and a sense of awakening.

As the world continues to face war and rapid technological change, I recently returned to take the spring theology class again. These studies have given me time to reflect not only on faith, but also on human behavior and the direction our world is taking.

What I learned today from studying the Book of Numbers is that no one truly wins. Violence cannot produce peace.

  • Israel/Trump: They may be winning the “numbers” game, but they risk losing the moral game.

  • Iran: They claim “religious resistance,” but they may lose the hearts of the people when power is chosen over compassion.

The same lesson applies to many leaders and governments, including previous administrations. When leaders fail to follow moral principles and justice, people suffer.

Meanwhile, ordinary people are suffering, and many soldiers and innocent civilians become victims.

In my studies, I have also noticed that wisdom about human behavior is not limited to one tradition. While the Bible teaches moral responsibility and compassion, other traditions such as Confucian philosophy also emphasize inner character, sincerity of the heart, and self-reflection.

Across different cultures and teachings, the message is often similar: true strength does not come from power or control, but from integrity, compassion, and inner discipline.

Recently, I also noticed that Portland State University is planning to cut or reorganize several academic programs, including history, philosophy, world languages, global affairs, and other human-centered fields. These disciplines have traditionally helped people understand culture, ethics, and human society.

As we move deeper into the AI era, technology will continue to advance rapidly. While we should celebrate technological progress, I hope we do not lose the human-centered knowledge that helps people develop empathy, moral judgment, and emotional intelligence.

Without these foundations, we risk training future generations to work with powerful machines but without the wisdom and compassion needed to guide them.

Since 2024, I have put all my heart into building ideas about the future of work. AI is rapidly reshaping industries, and many traditional jobs will continue to disappear. This transformation will create uncertainty and fear for many people.

My hope is that during this transition we do not lose our humanity. Technology may transform how we work, but wisdom, compassion, and awareness must guide how we live and make decisions.

That is why I believe the future cannot rely on technology alone. Real progress requires integration between human awareness and technological systems.

This idea is the foundation behind my work through Crossworknet, which focuses on integrating human and technological capabilities: mind, systems, culture, behavior, technology, ethics, and continuous monitoring. When these elements work together, we can build a future where technology supports humanity rather than replacing it.

For me, the future should not become a robotic life. It should be a future where technology and human awareness evolve together.

Final Thoughts

We are not going back to the old world system anymore. We are standing at a transition point as society moves into the AI era.

As humans, we should not try to race against automation. Machines are designed for speed and efficiency. But humans carry something different — we have a soul, a brain, and the ability to reflect, learn, and improve ourselves.

Technology may change how we work, but it should not replace our humanity. Instead, it should support us.

That is why awareness and reflection matter more than ever.

“When we learn from our past, we are more capable of creating what we want in the future.”

That is what makes us human.

Let AI support our work, but let humans make wise and ethical decisions.

“Every step of awareness we take today carries us into the future.”
